Patriot USA has been officially registered as a Service Connected Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business with the SBA.
Patriot USA recently completed our registration with the U.S. Small Business Administration SBA as a SCDVOSB Service Connected Veteran Owned Small Business. (S.C.D.V.O.S.B.)
Our company received notice today that our registration with the Small Business Administration is complete.
Our journey has been long, and required getting though over some challenging hurdles. The process included Patriot USA’s owner application and approval for Disability with the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs. After receiving award, Patriot USA registered with Dun & Bradstreet and finally with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
We are in process of preparing to apply with the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs to become a CVE or Certified Veteran Enterprise. We will post an update when this next process is complete.
What is a service connected veteran?
Service Connected Disabled Veterans SCDV are Veterans who are determined by U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs V.A. to be disabled by an injury or illness. This injury or illness must be incurred or aggravated during active military service. These disabilities are considered to be service connected. To be eligible for compensation, the Veteran must have been separated or discharged under conditions other than dishonorable.
Our company is 100% owned by Mr. James DiNardo. James was honorably discharged from the United States Navy October, 1996. Furthermore, he is 60% service connected disabled as certified by the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs.
Service Connected Disabled Veteran Owned. What does this actually mean?
Our company registered as a service connected disabled veteran owned commercial cleaning company and janitorial service with the SBA. Consequently this could have a positive impact on additional opportunities Patriot USA is able to participate in.
The federal government spends billions every year. A percentage is set aside for disadvantaged business including veteran owned businesses as well as 8A, HubZone, Minority and Women Owned firms.
Also, a percentage is set aside for use with Service Connected Veteran Owned Small Businesses, designated small (under 18 million annual revenue) like Patriot USA.
In conclusion we are hopeful in the next 24 months to participate in set aside opportunities. Our firm is hopeful to expand by doing business with the government and businesses who seek disabled veteran owned firms like ours.
